Dear Friends and Supporters,
As the new year approaches, we want to reflect on what has been a period of immense growth, ongoing challenges, and unwavering solidarity.Â
In this time of institutionalized silencing of dissenting women, we've not only raised our voices but have built structures to amplify them.Â
In 2025, we turned a community into a movement, and your unwavering support has been a part of that transformation. We can't wait to charge into 2026 with you.
A Year of Monumental Accomplishments
Our work this past year has been strategic, bold, and impactful. Together, we:
Gathered for Our Second Annual Conference: After much planning, fundraising and hard work, our live event in Calgary—Reality Based Women Unite 2025—was another resounding success. We showcased the diverse, powerful voices of women speaking out against genderism from various standpoints—a vital counter-narrative to a one-sided conversation. The energy in that room reaffirmed the urgent need for our work. The subsequent Keep Prisons Single Sex street demonstration in downtown Calgary was our most invigorating and impactful to date. Our thanks go out the The Democracy Fund for their ongoing support of our annual conferences.
Challenged the Government: To secure our voice in the most crucial arena, we officially launched our Charter Challenge against the Canadian government to advocate for the removal of men from women's prisons. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) for funding the Challenge, and to Charter Advocates Canada for representing caWsbar in this ground-breaking legal action.
Built for the Future: The monumental step of undertaking a Charter Challenge required us to grow up structurally. Building upon our incorporation as a non-profit organization and the establishment of a dedicated Board of Directors in 2024, we created specialized task groups to ensure every facet of our work is led with expertise and focus. We are now built to last and to fight.
Created a Weekly Beacon: Our weekly Twitter/X Space, "Reality-Based Women Speak", has become a must-attend touchpoint for women across the globe. It provides sharp analysis, timely updates, and, most importantly, a sense of shared community and understanding every single week. Join us in 2026 as we continue the conversation every Wednesday at 7 pm Eastern on X.
Strengthened Our Core: We are thrilled to have accepted many newly-vetted and fully-engaged women into our cross-Canada network of associates. Our strength is in our connections, and those connections have never been stronger as we continue to engage in regular online meetings, chat groups and private regional gatherings.
Facing the Headwinds Together
Our path has not been without ongoing challenges, which only steel our resolve.
We witnessed the continued persecution of women who speak out for sexed reality, exemplified by the malicious finding against Nurse Amy Hamm after her years-long disciplinary tribunal by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Amy continues to fight on, appealing the decision to the BC Supreme court and filing two complaints with the BC Human Rights Tribunal.
In 2025, three more of our brave associates stepped into the legal ring to challenge anti-woman laws and policies—Bryony Dixon, Amy McKay and Kathy Drake. Bryony and Amy are also represented by the JCCF. Kathy has had to engage private counsel at her own expense.
The legal battles all of these women are undertaking are stark reminders of the professional and personal risks so many women face here in Canada and around the world. Our network will offer continued support to these courageous women as they make their stand.
The incoming government elected early in 2025, appears intent on further entrenching establishment genderist ideology rather than engaging with the women and girls whose lives are impacted by it. This means our advocacy, our Charter Challenge, and our public education work are more necessary than ever.
Our leadership and associates continue to attempt engagement with all levels of government regarding the negative impact of gender ideology and self-ID on Canadian women and girls. Whether letter-writing, submitting briefs, commenting on social media, or attending in-person meetings and phone calls, we are ensuring they hear from us.
The Heart of Our Movement: You
The challenges highlight the why—our accomplishments highlight the how. The thread tying it all together is you: your courage, your time, your expertise, your donations, and your unwavering commitment to material reality manifested as women’s sex-based rights and protections.
Looking Forward to 2026
Entering the new year, we are not weary; we are prepared. Our foundation is solid. Our legal challenge is underway. Our voice is clear. Our community is growing.
Our resolve is fortified.
And we're so excited to present Reality Based Women Unite 2026 in Montreal on International Women's Day weekend. Tickets to attend in-person or by livestream are selling quickly, so be sure to get yours before they sell out.Â
Thank you for standing shoulder-to-shoulder in this fight. Thank you for your trust, your work, and your courage.
Here’s to continuing to build a world where women’s voices are heard, our spaces protected, and our rights unassailable.
With gratitude and courage,Â
The caWsbar Steering Committee
